Ahmadiyya Basket Ball League - For the past two decades there has been an open basketball league established for Ahmadi Youth across the greater Toronto area. The teams were established based on Majalis and the games were held at Maple Community Centre. In the early 90's playoff games were shown on Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA). Soon after, MTA viewers started viewing similar sporting shows submitted by other countries like Pakistan. For the past three years Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya has expanded this league and has re-established in under the name of Ahmadiyya Basketball League (ABL). There have been two leagues established under ABL; one is for Atfal ul Ahamdiyya and the other for Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya. Both leagues are based on a two tiered system (Division 1 & 2). Tier one is established for teams with superior skills and tier two with teams that are not quite up to the skill level as tier one teams. Each game is started by congregational dua and Namaz is offered at its prescribed time. The games consist of two 20 minutes halves and are refereed by two pre-assigned referees. There is a website which is updated on a weekly basis where players can go and view individual or team stats. Inshallah, the 2008/2009 season is scheduled to start in October and should be better then ever. The winner of the Khuddam Division A for the 2007/2008 season was Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada A and the winner for Division B was Majlis Hamilton. At the conclusion of the ABL season, prizes are handed out to each division.
Musleh Mau'ud Tournament - Every year during the month of February Musleh Mau'ud Tournament is scheduled to celebrate the grand prophesy of Masih Mau`d (as). This tournament consists of team events such as basketball, volleyball and soccer as well as individual events like badminton, wrist wrestling etc. In the past, there used to be a single Musleh Maud tournemant for all of Canada. However, due to the increase in Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya Tajneed over the years (Mashallah) there has been an establishment of a Regional system (six Regions). All six Regions now hold their own Musleh Mau'd touraments. Due to the cold weather in Canada, there isn't much opportunity for youth to compete with each other in sporting events during the winter months. The Musleh Mau'd tournament is the premier sporting event that bring the youth together during this time and keeps them physically active and involved in Jamaat.
Invitational Basket Ball Tournament - Since 2001 (exception 2006) Khuddamul Ahmadiyya has organized an Invitational Basketball Tournament. For the first two years of its conception the tournament was held at the outdoor basketball courts at Ba`itul Islam Mosque. The primary objective for establishing this tournament was to introduce our Non-Ahmadi and Non-Muslims brothers to Ahmadiyyat and show the progress of our jama`at and its auxiliary organizations. The Mayor of the City of Vaughan has been invited to all the tournaments and has amiably attended most of the opening sessions. For the last five years the tournament has been moved indoors to Maple Community Centre. This tournament has had a positive impact on Non-Ahmadi participants and they keenly look forward to the annual invitations. There's been a diverse culture of teams from various ethnic backgrounds as well as Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA that have participated in this tournament. There were twelve teams that participated in the 2007 tournament which was held on October 20th & 21 at Emily Carr Secondary School and was won by Toronto Khalsa team. The 2008 tournament was scheduled was held at the Hoop Dome which is a premier basketball tournament facility. Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya dedicated the tournament to the Centenary of Khilafat e Ahmadiyya. Ahmadi teams from USA along with many local non-Ahmadi team participated and made the tournament a huge success.
Cricket Tape-Ball Tournament - The first Ahmadiyya Cricket Club (ACC) Tape Ball tournament was held in 2003. This was an Open tournament involving one Ahmadi team and approximately 21 teams. All those who participated in the event put on a very entertaining, fast paced cricket exhibition. Matches started at 10 am and lasted until 7:00 pm (with the final being played on the next day). Even under extremely cold weather conditions, all the teams showed up and enthusiastically competed all day long. To onlookers it was almost a comical site at times, watching men wearing several layers of clothing (sweaters, jackets, wool hats) and playing cricket in such extreme cold. Yet, that is the craze of this sport, it makes grown men act like young boys and ready to take on any obstacle in order get in a day of tape ball cricket. The final match was between B4U and Peace Village teams and was won by B4U. The winners took home a cash prize of $500 along with sponsor¹s giveaways for Man of the Match and tournament.
The 2003 ACC tournament was a great success and as a result subsequent tournaments were held in 2004 and 2005.
